Case Study
10 Custom Practice Websites, Built in Parallel
The Problem
Premier Dentist Partners had ten more practice websites to rebuild, and they wanted the whole batch done in one push.
Their earlier rebuilds had run on a shared WordPress template, and it showed. The sites looked alike, and whenever a doctor asked for something the template couldn't do, it turned into a change order. Premier wanted each practice to look like itself.
Rebuilding the sites one at a time would have taken too long. Doing all ten at once meant a lot landing on a lean marketing team in the same few months:
- Ten offices to onboard
- Ten sets of doctors to approve designs
- Ten domains to move
What We Did
We moved the batch off the template and onto custom builds in Astro, for about what Premier had been paying per template site. Every practice got its own design, built around its own brand, with custom sections, alternate layouts and photo treatments included rather than quoted separately.
Content came from a scrape of each existing site or straight from the office. We kicked off the ten within a few weeks of each other, sometimes four or five in the same week. Premier's marketing lead stayed the single point of contact for every office, which kept the relationships with Premier and gave each office one voice to hear from.
The build itself was never the slow part. With AI in our workflow, design and development on a custom site move quickly. The time went into the human side of the project:
- Getting busy doctors to sign off on designs
- Collecting feedback from each office
- Above all, getting DNS access so we could launch
We'd seen the same pattern on Premier's emergency replatforming, where the rebuild took days and DNS access took most of the week.
Why this matters for marketing leaders
A custom website doesn't have to be slow or expensive anymore. AI has made the build fast enough that a custom site now costs about what a template site used to.
We charge more when a project needs work beyond the build, such as information architecture, custom integrations, or a highly collaborative process where your doctors and marketing team weigh in at every step. When you trust us to run with it, we usually get it right the first time and move quickly, even on a fully custom site.
That leaves the human side, so that's where we put our effort. We front-load as much as we can:
- Intake content gathered and approved before design starts
- DNS access secured at the start, not chased at launch
- Review dates shared early, so offices and doctors can plan around them
The less time each site spends waiting, the sooner the whole portfolio is live.
